I come from a middle-class family. Nothing was handed to us. Every rupee was counted, every month was planned, and every big decision was made around the kitchen table. That's where I learned what hard work really costs.
In 2019 I stepped into the beauty industry. From the outside it looked like glamour — mirrors, lights, beautiful brands. But the longer I worked, the more I saw the people behind it: the owners who had put their life savings into four chairs and a dream.
I met them in salon after salon, clinic after clinic. And I kept seeing the same story. Appointments written in a notebook that went missing. Clients who forgot and never came back. Arguments over commission at the end of the month. Products running out in the middle of a bridal booking. Owners working twelve hours a day who still couldn't tell me what their salon actually earned that week.
